.Musikalischer Adventskalender: The Killers (#5)

Ab heute sogar mit entsprechend weihnachtlicher Schneegrafik geht es in die fünfte Runde des musikalischen Adventskalenders.

The Killers, zur Zeit mit ihrem sehr hörenswerten Album Day & Age in meinem Gehörgang verankert, haben im letzten November die nur digital erhältliche Single Don't Shoot Me Santa veröffentlicht. Teile der Einnahmen wurden und werden an Bonos RED-Projekt zur AIDS-Prävention gespendet. Schon im Jahr 2006 erschien mit A Great Big Sled ein erstes karikatives Weihnachtslied für Bonos Stiftung von den Killers.

Krönung des Ganzen ist ein brilliantes Video mit Killers-Puppen, Rentierpullovern, fiesem Santa und einem roten Cadillac. Und das Video spielt wo? Natürlich in der Wüste. Pflichtprogramm!

Hihi, das Video ist echt cool und passt zum Song. Den hatte ich letztes Jahr gekauft (war ja für einen guten Zweck) und werde den jetzt mal wieder entstauben :-)

@Konna: Ja, das Lied ist in der Tat etwas skurril, vor allem weil es beim ersten Hören so gar nicht ins Killers-Reportoire passt.
